About Our School

ABOUT MONTEBELLO HIGH SCHOOL
 
Founded in 1909, Montebello High School is one of five comprehensive high schools in the Montebello Unified School District. Montebello High School is an urban school located in the San Gabriel Valley area of Southern California. The High School is located in the City of Montebello which is approximately ten miles east of downtown Los Angeles and borders the cities of Pico Rivera, Monterey Park, Los Angeles, and Commerce.
 
 
Montebello High School has an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students and a staff of 91 teachers. The ethnic make up of the students of Montebello High School is as follows: 96.8% Hispanic, 1.6% White, .01% American Indian, .30% Asian, .10% Pacific Islander, .30% Filipino, and .50% African American.
 
MISSION/VISION STATEMENT
The Montebello High School community promotes:
 
 
  • A safe and nurturing learning environment resulting in intellectual, social, and personal growth.
  • Development of positive values which foster appropriate responses to real-life challenges.
  • Preparation of students to be self-directed and encouraging life-long learners.
  • Inspiring students to pursue their college and career goals.
  • The ability to think critically and communicate effectively.
 
This vision will be implemented by utilizing Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and Student Learning Outcomes (SLO). It will be achieved by strategies developed by staff collaboration. This vision will be realized by supporting the academic needs of all students.
